As a photographer, capturing Matt and Heather's surprise wedding proposal at the Santa Barbara Courthouse was an unforgettable experience. Matt reached out to us wanting the special moments of him getting down on one knee and proposing to Heather captured to have forever. There’s nothing more exciting to us - such an incredible honor!
They were traveling down from the Bay Area on a little road trip along the California coast. The Santa Barbara Courthouse was the perfect pitstop before heading further south. Under the tower's grand arches, Matt knelt down and pulled out the engagement ring. I captured every emotion etched across their faces - Matt's nervous excitement and Heather's dawning realization of what was happening. And of course, Heather said yes!
We celebrated their engagement by exploring the courthouse, hitting all the scenic spots. From the fountains and gardens to the arches, long hallways and spiral staircase. There’s nothing like those freshly engaged feels, their excitement and love for each other was so evident. It made photographing them together that much more special.
