A Guide to Choosing Your Engagement Photo Outfits

Congratulations, you’re engaged! Now, it’s time to capture your love and excitement with stunning engagement photos. But, before you step in front of the camera, there’s one important question: What should you wear?!

First and foremost, wear what you know you love and will be confident in. We want you to move around freely, have fun and just be completely yourself! We are here to help guide you every step of the way and always provide our style guide for some inspiration and ideas before your shoot. So let’s dive in!

Comfort is KEy

Look good, feel good! We want you to feel your absolute best. That will result in photos you love! If you plan to wear something brand new, be sure to check for comfortability. Not feeling fully confident or comfortable in your outfits or fidgeting with straps can be distracting! This will take away from the overall experience and photos.

Consider Location + Season

Your outfits should make sense for your surroundings. If you’re on the beach, go barefoot! If it’s cold and overcast, bring a coat or blankets. Also, think about how the colors and tones of what you wear will compliment the location. You want to avoid blending into your background. For instance, a khaki brown shirt would blend into the sand on a beach. A green dress would blend into the trees in a forest. Contrasting colors make for amazing photos!

Plan for two outfits

We always suggest a more casual outfit to start your session with. This laid-back approach is the perfect way to set a warm and inviting tone for the whole session! Then we can end with a more dressed-up look. This is a great way and an opportunity to have two different vibes for your engagement photos!

Be You and Wear What You Love

We want you to show your personality and style by wearing what you love. The ultimate goal is to always capture couples authentically. Your style is never too bold or too simple! Your photos should be the perfect representation of your relationship and this beautiful season of life!
