I am so happy you decided to stop by as I know how busy life can get… so I am thankful 🙂 My name is Bethany. I am the photographer behind this little place.

Top 5 Questions People Have about Having Their Pictures Taken! ANSWERED!

1. I would like to have some nice family pictures done…but my kids just wont sit still and behave?

Bethany: That is the fun part 🙂 Life is about little moments that create big memories…(that includes the day you get pics taken). I HATE posed shots and Fake smiles… I strive as an artist and memory maker to capture the little things that pass by so quickly…Kids splashing around in muddy puddles…LOVE IT, Kids having a good cry while they sit there with their cute little dresses and headbands because quite frankly they’re bored and fed up…IT”S CUTE. What I am trying to say is not to worry. Just have your kids dressed and at the location we choose and I will take it from there 😉 I have some good tricks up my sleeve and always have some goodies with me to give them a big giggle once in a while. Let kids be kids (after all its those moments you will want to remember the most as they get older)

2. I Hate being on camera, I get so embarrassed and hate the way I look in all pictures… I dont want to look awkward in my pictures..

Bethany: I PROMISE you that WILL NOT happen with me!! As a friend as well as photographer, its MY job to make sure that does not happen and to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I specifically do not set a time limit on my photo sessions for that very reason. Some shoots go better than others and likewise some take longer than others. Just like kids warming up to a new face, adults need time to find their zone 😉 When you book me for a session it is more of a big giant day trip somewhere… We go to different locations and just have fun…(occasionally get quite silly) No time limit means less worrying about having to fake a smile because you dont feel comfortable doing anything else with the stranger pointing the camera in you face… I am not a crazy lady, promise 😉 I sincerely believe that everybody is beautiful and all I am doing is showing you that through my photographs! Trust me, you wont be disappointed 🙂

3. Why do you charge what you do and do we order prints through you?

Bethany: I have had so many tedious (poke a pencil in my eyeball) kind of discussions about pricing with other professional and not so professional photographers… it is probably one of the trickiest things to figure out and I am still figuring it all out. But the way I look at it is me investing in YOU and your family or wedding day. Pictures are such an important part of life and I want to make sure you get every single one of those moments captured (thats a lot of pressure for 1 girl), on average a session lasts about 1.5 hours sometimes longer, sometimes less depending on a lot of things. I do not charge per hour, I charge for the package. That means you get time to relax and we can get to know each other better (this is especially important when shooting an engagement prior to a wedding because your wedding day is meant to be the most important day of your life! As a friend and photographer I will do my best to make it go as smoothly as possible and also dont put a time frame on the wedding package so that I can really get everything throughout the day. The process running up to the wedding can get crazy as I spend months planning pictures, studying lighting techniques, poses and familiarize myself with the church, area and bride and groom more! After the wedding I leave with usually a little over 3000 pictures and have to single handedly go through every one of them to make sure I get bits of everything. After that, I perfect those images and convert them all to b&w so that when you receive your CD you have both black and white and color! The short answer is for the time I am investing in you… your ideas, your family, your day while making memories high resolution for you to enlarge beautifully in your home 🙂

4. What do I wear at a photo session?

Bethany: I prefer you NOT to wear black and white (I think they are boring) other than that, anything that you feel comfortable in. If you dont normally wear dresses, dont wear one, likewise with heels (you will only be in utter pain by the end of the session). Wear what you normally wear or clothes that will express who you are as an individual. 🙂 Blues, greens, pinks and most solid colors usually work nicely. (Stay tuned for a blog post *with pictures* on what to wear at your session

5. When do we get our pictures? Can we print and share?

Bethany: Yes!!! Of course you can 🙂 (you better get them printed and hung) 😉 Nothing I love more than seeing my happy clients enlarge my photographs on display in their home! It’s a beautiful thing! You will receive a CD with all images in color and b&w roughly within 2-3 weeks after session, depending on time of year, this includes your copyright ro print and share as much as you like 🙂
